Lindsey & Dave -- maternity

This session was very personal to me. Lindsey is my best friend. Her and Dave have been trying to get pregnant for a long time, and I can still remember the day she told me. I am so excited to be "Aunty Bestey" and to watch their little girl Emma grow up. Lindsey is very artistic and she has tried teaching Dave to paint. I remember one time going to their house and seeing Dave's latest attempt at a painting -- it was a canvas with writing on it: "I say 'f' this" -- or something of that nature. It made me laugh, because he has such a great sense of humor, which you will see below. This blog is a little different.... it's a bit of a "story".... enjoy!

Watch for part two with more shots from this fun session.

Don't forget to check me out on facebook!!

Baby Jemma

Meet adorable baby Jemma. Jemma's beautiful mom Sasha was given a photo session with me as a baby shower gift by her friend Brandi (great shower gift right??!!)

There is nothing I love more than getting asked to take newborn photos, it's such an amazing thing to be invited into someone's home to take pictures of (and of course sneak some snuggles in) someone's brand new baby. Jemma was so good for us, although she didn't sleep the entire time, which is something that makes my job a little easier!  We even convinced Jemma's big brother to get in for a few pics, although it might have taken a little bit of bribing :)

Jolene

Jolene and I decided to do something a little different for her family photos, so we headed to the beach -- in October! It was perfect, there was nobody there except for us and her adorable little girls had a great time playing in the sand and on the playground equipment. I love just following kids around while they play, I end up with the cutest shots! Jolene I had a great time with you and your girls, and remember.... next time you want a good picture of Shelby, just "yell" at her like I did!  I hope you enjoy your family photos!

Dusty & Laura

It seemed like the world was against us for this appointment. I think we had to re-schedule at least three times, but we finally got a chance to meet up. Unfortunately, we had to do it late into an evening so I lost my light fast! Dusty and Laura, I had a great time with you guys and LOVED being able to use the bike in some of my shots, I don't get to do that everyday! Your boys were so easy going, and took direction so well -- I think I have at least ONE new boyfriend :)

Dan & Kerri

Meet Dan and Kerri and their sweet boys Cameron and Cody. We met a couple of weeks ago for this session and it was a little bit cold out but the boys didn't mind. Cody pretty much dictated how this session would go, but I think I managed to get some good shots of the boys and of course Dan and Kerri too. Dan told me about a month before these photos that I "better make him look good".... well Dan, I think I made you and your family look great! (its not hard to make good looking people look good though, so I won't take all the credit!)

Nick & Brandi

I met up with this family a couple of weeks ago in Red Deer, and I FINALLY am getting  a chance to blog about our session! It was a little bit cold this day, but once we started taking pictures, I don't think anyone seemed to notice. The boys did such a great job and I am pretty sure I heard Nick tell Brandi he would agree to family pictures once a year. Brandi, you better hold him to that!!

Here are some of my favs from that day:

Mike & Sabrina

I actually found Sabrina, she didn't find me. Sabrina had an ad on kijiji. She was looking for a wedding dress and she was on a tight budget, so her ad was asking if anyone might have one that they could donate. Well I didn't have a dress -- but I have a camera and my time. So I contacted her and offered to take photos of her wedding.  It was finally the big day on Saturday and it was such a beautiful and personal wedding ceremony. Mike and Sabrina have two cute daughters that they involved in the ceremony as well as their three dogs. You can tell their family is close and has so much love. I wish you two all the best in the future, thank you for letting me part of your special day!
