Ada Jean

Meet my new niece Ada Jean. This baby has a STORY! She decided she didn't want to wait for the hospital and she was born on the side of the highway on the way into town. Her brave daddy delivered her and her super hero mommy acted like it was no big deal. But she is a big deal. She's adorable and such a good baby. She was so good for this session, she pretty much let me do whatever I wanted which was fantastic. I'll probably post more pics than normal, but who can resist an adorable baby, right?

Sylvan Lake Engagement Session

This fantastic couple contacted me just last week to ask about an engagement session. We planned to meet on Sunday, and the second I drove into Sylvan it started to rain.... we tried to brave the weather on the beach but it was just too miserable! Thank goodness we had a back up plan and we were able to go to a family member's BEAUTIFUL yard which was protected from the wind. The weather stayed perfect for us until we were finished and on my way home it started to POUR!! Perfect timing!

Tim & Malanie

I had so much with this family on Saturday... partly because they are my family! Let me tell you, it is VERY difficult getting three kids to look at the camera at once, but I managed to get some great shots and let the kids run and play in between the "serious" shots to get some energy out. Malanie, I am so happy to have been able to give you family pictures that included Nathan! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!!

WOW-- I must be doing something right!

So yesterday I am out for dinner with a friend and my phone tells me I have a new facebook message.

Here is the message I received

"I was looking at your website, and I just wanted to say I've printed a lot of pro wedding shoots and this is the first one in a long while that actually had any kind of sensitivity to the lighting and white balance and creativity. How long have you been shooting? your technical skills are amazing! alas, some girls got it, some girls don't :P "
I couldn't believe it! My first wedding and someone who sees wedding pictures on a regular basis takes the time to write this message? Wow! I was so blown away I started to well up.

Jesse and Natalie

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking photos at Jesse and Natalie's wedding. Natalie contacted me only a couple of weeks ago to see if I was available the day of her wedding, and by chance I had just had a cancellation for that day. I was so excited to shoot this wedding, as it was my first "official" wedding. I told Natalie I was probably just as excited for her wedding day as she was!

The weather the ENTIRE week before the wedding was terrible, and I was worried that we wouldn't have good enough weather to do our photos outside. Luckily it wasn't raining that day, but it was COLD! The poor bridal party followed me around town in their sweaters and each time we got to a new location it was "Sweaters off!!" ... and then I would shoot as quickly as I could, so they could get warmed up again. Thanks so much girls for putting up with me dragging you all over town in the freezing cold, and thanks boys for listening to me and taking direction so well!

Thank you so much Jesse and Natalie for letting me be a part of your special day. It's one I wont forget for a long time...........

Fun family session

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with a great family from Red Deer. Somehow "G" found my faceook fan page and asked me about booking a session at the start of August, and we finally were able to meet up. After a week of bad weather we lucked out and had the most GORGEOUS evening! (it was 30 degrees) Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.........
